On October 26, Kharkiv hosted a regional technology sports and cybersecurity championship in the Capture the Flag (CTF) format. A42 joined the competition as a technology partner as part of its partnership with Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (NURE), the event’s co-organizer.
Watch the highlights from the championship in this video.
Over the course of the day, 12 teams competed on the CYBER ICE BOX cyber range, developed at NURE’s V. V. Popovskyi Department of Infocommunication Engineering.
The championship was organized jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Department in Kharkiv Oblast and the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. The SBU Cybersecurity Situation Center and the Technological Sports Federation of Ukraine also joined as partners.
Root Knights, a team of NURE students, took fifth place and received a certificate for an internship at A42.
Special thanks go to the team that made the championship possible: Maryna Yevdokymenko, professor at the department, for organizing the event on behalf of NURE; Volodymyr Porokhniak, first-year PhD student, for developing the cyber range; and Diana Ibrahimova, NURE’s master’s student and A42’s GRC and Cyber Security Officer, for moderating the platform.
A42’s mission is to make cybersecurity accessible. As AI develops, more and more organizations face constant attacks, and they need skilled specialists to protect them. That’s why the company’s vision is to support knowledge sharing and pass on advanced skills to the next generation of cybersecurity experts. As a part of this vision, in July 2026, A42 and NURE signed a partnership memorandum. The partnership covers creating educational materials, joint research, and training a new generation of AI-driven cybersecurity specialists.
